When beam is failing in design then we have to check–

1)weather it is balcony beam or not..

if it is balcony beam then we can give it as ordinary design rather than ductile design…it will definitely pass

2)If it is not balcony beam then we go for torsional release in beam.

after giving some amount of torsional release will give us passed beam in design.

After giving torsional release it will basically transfer the rebar percentage of beam to nearby slab…
