2nd-order analysis

P-DELTA analysis is a geometric non-linear 2nd-order analysis.

P stands for the force acting on the body and delta means the horizontal displacement. It’s basically a destabilizing effect.

It’s commonly needed in tall and slender structures, where second-order effects can be significant.

It can identify potential stability issues, helping to ensure the structure is capable of supporting the loads it is subjected to without collapsing.
