MESHING TECHNIQUES during Finite Element Analysis.

Loading

Hi Everyone,

I would like to share my recent experience regarding the MESHING TECHNIQUES during Finite Element Analysis.

👉 In Pic 1, “Floor Meshing into 2 by 2” option is selected. This approach divided the floor into larger elements by creating 4 parts in each panel.

👉 In Pic 2, I opted for a different approach by selecting “Floor Meshing by Cookie Cut with a maximum size of 48in.” This method utilized a cookie-cutter technique to create finer elements.

The difference in meshing techniques resulted in contrasting structural behaviors, leading to inaccurate design results. It’s crucial to choose an appropriate meshing strategy based on the specific requirements and characteristics of the structural elements.

I believe it’s important to emphasize the significance of meshing in Finite Element Analysis. Proper meshing plays a vital role in capturing accurate stress distribution, deformation patterns, and overall structural response. Inaccurate meshing can introduce errors and compromise the reliability of the analysis results.

I encourage you all to pay attention to meshing techniques and explore their impact on structural analysis. Feel free to share your experiences or insights on this topic. 💭
